Buying a HD TV

Don't keep battling it, just give in and jump into the world of High Definition. Yup, it costs you a mighty buck or two, but I guess its all worth it.

How big: 46"

Which one: Choice was between the Aquos (Sharp), Bravia (Sony) and Samsung. Sharp and Sony offered better looking models, but the deep black of Samsung won us over (with a dynamic contract off 15000:1 compared to 4000:1 from the competitors.

From whom: Amazon offered the best deal among the known retailers. No taxes, and free shipping.

Installation: Alan Hutchings. Wall mounting, speakers in the attic, all wires hidden in the walls.

Package: DirecTV, with a 2 year contract, a HD DVR thrown in without any extra cost.
